Privacy policy
What Macclesfield Roofers collects through this website, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
The data controller is Macclesfield Roofers. You can contact us about your information at hello@macclesfieldroofers.co.uk or on 01625 709905.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through the quote form we receive the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, town or postcode, the type of property and job, and anything you write about the roof. If you call or email us, we receive what you tell us or send.
Our web server records technical information such as IP addresses in its logs for security, and the form uses your IP address briefly to limit repeated submissions. We do not use it to identify you.
Why we use it, and the lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit and prepare a quote. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out and keep records of the work we do for you. This is necessary for the contract and for our legal obligations.
- To protect the form from abuse and keep a record of enquiries so none is missed. These are our legitimate interests.
We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or share them for anyone else's marketing.
Who receives it
Your enquiry reaches us by email through our email provider, and a copy is kept in the enquiry system our website provider runs so that no enquiry is lost. The website is hosted on a hosting provider's servers. These providers act on our instructions. We share your details with no one else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not lead to work, we delete your details within 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep the records we need for as long as the law and our obligations under the contract require.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it, and in some cases ask for it in a portable form. Email us at the address above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
